try something new!

i feel like i have tried lot of different types of foods, but last night, i realized that there is one major food attraction that i have missed out on!

shane and i went to a japanese steakhouse for hibachi, or more correctly termed teppanyaki.

you are seated with other guests at a big iron grill where the chef will create your order in front of you. we were pretty excited about sitting with strangers! we though it might be fun to pull a prank ... maybe have a fake fight, get sick ... i don't know! something to make them uncomfortable! but we remained "adults" and didn't do anything! boo!

the food started arriving immediately, and there was quite a bit!

we started with miso soup.

good. soup is soup.

then salad.

also, nothing amazing but i love that carrot ginger dressing and they put just enough on!

then the chef came to start grilling. part of the fun (besides eating and freaking out the people seated with you) is watching the chef "play" with the food he is preparing.

an onion volcano.

preparing the most fried rice i've seen in my life!

more food ...

grilled veggies and shrimp.

a grill full of meat! steak, salmon, scallops, lobster, and shrimp.

the finished product! my steak and lobster (with a ton of rice!).

ohhh .... so stuffed!

I remember when you were just a sprout and told me you didn't like steak. You told me it was too "chewy" !!!
