go and learn



my uncle george (who only my dad and i can refer to as "the funky uncle monk"), is in town and speaking at the Tibet House on tuesday.

the topic is:
Relationships Between Science and Buddhism.

This lecture is free; all are welcome.

a brief biography on my uncle:

VENERABLE GEORGE CHURINOFF, GELONG THUBTEN TSULTRIM

A physics graduate from MIT, Venerable Churinoff also has a Masters
degree in Buddhist Studies from Delhi University, India. He was ordained
in 1975, and after more than four years at Kopan Monastery in Nepal,
studied at Manjushri Institute in England, where he also served as
Spiritual Program Coordinator. Venerable Churinoff was instrumental in
founding the Master's Program at Istituto Lama Tsong Khapa in Italy,
where he was also Program Coordinator, studying and teaching for 8
years. He then spent 3 years as Lama Osel Rinpoche's English curriculum
tutor at Sera Je Monastery in South India. Venerable Churinoff has done
many retreats and has taught extensively throughout the world.
