so this one is for the girls out there.

something that i own and love are seamless tanks by eloise*, available at anthropologie stores.

*unfortunately the above link only shows the seamless camis - which aren't necessarily my favorite

for $24, they are a perfect layering piece! the slightly wider strap is nice since it covers a bra strap. (something the camis don't do). they are super lightweight, stretchy, and aren't too short. so they stay down where they should stay! they also come in a variety of colors.

the competition?

• hanro touch feeling tank. i'm sure it is nice, but who wants to spend $118 on a tank!?!
• commando. this brand is new to me. decent price point. ($48) but it looks like it has a deep v, which i don't really like.
• then there was the DKNY seamless tank that i wore for years. (i can't seem to find it online). it was my introduction to the seamless cami. problem was that it stretched out so much and completely lost it's shape.
  

somethin' i believe in. #1

welcome to my first installment of somethin' to believe in!

i'm going to start it off with some thing i recently discovered at CVS and fell is looove with!

it's simply two new body washes. you don't need to spend a lot of money and go to specialty stores to get a great smelling and lathering body wash. just head on down to your local drug store (duane reade, CVS, walgreens).

the softsoap - pink grapefruit splash, smells sweets and fresh, but not too sweet like candy. (which i can't stand!) it is also a really pretty pink color for spring! i will admit, it was the pink packaging that originally drew me to this product!

now if you want a quick getaway in the morning during your shower, you have to get the caress - tahitian renewal! it brings memories of a tropical vacations! and it has little pomegranate pieces in it to exfoliate. usually i don't like body washes with bits and pieces of rough stuff in them, but this one doesn't bother me. maybe the scent just takes over and relaxes me!

somethin' i believe in - an introduction.

there are so many products, services, and other random things out there that i come across, fall in love with and then often find myself thinking, "hey! i really think that everyone needs this/ should do this/ should hear this, etc ... !"

i decided to create an regular segment here on whats the code, called somethin' i believe in (yes, that is a reference to the poison song. i am forever a child of glam rock.)

these recommendations can be anything from great to small. cheap to expensive. there is no qualifier here. if i love it and think you will too, i'll let you know all about it!

i can't guarantee it will occur every day, as my blogging has been sporadic lately. but i will try to keep it up the best i can!

aromatherapy.

i love anything that reminds me of fall! (as do other people i know!)

yesterday i started to use a new soap that just smells delicious! it is crisp apple by abode aroma. normally i am not a big fan of apple scents unless it has cinniman and spice in it (tends to remind of me something from bath and body works) but this is such a fresh and crisp scent! just like apple picking! yum! and it leaves a wonderful lingering scent in my bathroom for hours. in fact, when i came home later in the evening, i could still smell the apples!

i could use a laugh today!

god, do i love japanese practical jokes!

after all of the video game playing this past weekend, i could feel the addiction coming on ... i needed more galaga ... and i needed it fast!
well, you might have seen those video game systems sold in the malls where you get basically a remote control, plug it into your tv, and you have like 800 old school video games at your finger tips!!

i broke down. i needed it. i wanted galaga! (and pac man, and super mario brothers, and donkey kong!!!)

so jordi and i went to the kiosk in the altantic center mall (aka Target Heaven) on sunday to check it out. the dude wanted $45 for the system and i decided to try to talk him down. jordi decided the games could be fun so she also wanted one. he finally went for $75 total if we each got one. deal.

i was soooo excited to get home and plug it into my tv!!

all you had to do was plug the joystick into the a/v plugs in your tv. easy, right??

no.

i plugged in every plug, in every possible combination, tried all of the channels. nothin'.

i was so upset! i wanted instant gratification!


i had to bring the damn game back.
the same guy happened to be there. he showed me that it worked in his tv (probably rigged) and told me to try again. (ps, NO REFUNDS!!!)

i brought it home again. for some reason, i had this new hope. this could be the day!

but once again, nothing.
then i accidentally pushed this button on my remote that i had never used before ...

**note my ghetto remote! no fancy, shmancy tv for me!!

but then .. ta- dahh!! it worked!!!!!

look at all of the games i can play!


so, um, don't bother calling for awhile. i might be a little busy ...

there is only one thing i will miss about my (former) neighborhood ...
Dani's Pizza!



seriously the BEST pizza in new york!!!! you can saw whatever you want about joe's and rays's and whoever, but most of you have never been to queens, let alone kew gardens, to even know about this pizza! it's something about the sauce that is amazing!



dani's has been around for like 50 years. everyone in the neighborhood loves to come here. i thought it was so dumb when this place opened directly across the street...

now, who is Singa? and what makes him so famous? and what makes him think that he could possibly compete with dani's?!?!


i'll come back to queens someday, even if it is just for the pizza!
